The Magical Express Tour
Join us for a magical experience this Christmas and take a ride on The Magical Express Tour.
We all love the festive season and this year, Blackpool is home to its very own winter wonderland and is bringing the North Pole to town for Christmas by the Sea.
Hop onboard our special festive tram from the ‘North Pole’ and immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas in Blackpool. You’ll travel from North Pier to Pleasure Beach and back again, taking you on a 25-minute magical journey.
This is your only opportunity to ride on our special Christmas-themed double-decker Heritage Tram – there is no better way to see the lights!
Tours run every 30 minutes, so you can pre-book to secure your seat or just turn up on the day.
When do Tours run?
- 19 November to 12 December (Fri-Sun) Fridays 17:30-20:30 | Saturday 13:00-20:30 | Sunday 13:00-19:00. Every 30 minutes.
- 17 December to 3 January* – Mon-Sun 13:00-20:30.
*Excluding Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
How much does it cost?
Each tour costs £4 adults, £2 children.
How long does it last?
Each tour lasts approximately 25 minutes, leaving plenty of time to enjoy Christmas by the Sea on the Tower Headland.
What can I expect?
Our Christmas themed tram is decorated on the outside in a wintery theme to get you in the christmas spirit. On the inside of the tram there are lots of christmas themed graphics such as winter snow, peeping reindeers, a log fire graphic and of course, plenty of tinsel.
Please note that because this is a vintage tram which is over 80 years old, there isn’t space for any hanging decorations. We would have loved to have Santa and his Elves on board but again due to space, there are no live actors on the tram.
Where do I catch a tour?
All tours will depart from the North Pole! Our specially renamed tram stop is next to the Tourist Information Centre (Wedding Chapel) and is otherwise known as the North Pier and Tower Heritage Tram Stop.
How can I book?
You can book your ticket online in advance or simply turn up on the evening. Tours run every 30 minutes so you should only have a short wait if the tour is already full. Take a walk along the Christmas log cabins to pass the time or get yourself booked in on the ice rink!
Is the tram accessible?
Due to the age of the tram there is a large step when boarding and getting off the tram. The tram isn’t wheelchair accessible for this reason. If you need any assistance, please get in touch prior to booking to see if we can help.
