Tram Sunday with Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours
After two long years of absence, the Fylde Coast’s biggest transport event is back!
Tram Sunday is here on Sunday 17th July, with all kinds of unique vehicles from across the country being exhibited in Fleetwood. Between Fisherman’s Walk and Fleetwood Ferry, explore the souvenir stalls, view the wide range of vehicles and of course, enjoy our brilliant trams and tours.
Firstly, the impressive Illuminated Trawler, a 1960s Leyland PD3, 1930s Double-Decker balloon tram and ADL E400 will be static at the event, come down to say hello and get close to these awe-inspiring vehicles.
Here is what we’re running for the event…
The Full System Tour
It’s brand new for 2022 and coming on Saturday 16th July! The Full System Tour takes you to many points and crossings you wouldn’t normally get to experience during a Heritage Tram Tour. This rare opportunity will travel inside the Starr Gate Depot, Centre Lines at Bispham & Thornton Gate and many crossings across the 11 miles of coastline tram tracks.
There should be more opportunities like this in the year but don’t miss your chance for the first Full System Tour on Saturday 16th July. Check out the details and running time of the tour here.
Special Evening Tour
Here’s your chance to ride through our Starr Gate Depot on a unique Evening Tour. The iconic HMS Blackpool will depart North Pier at 19:00, heading to Bispham and catching great views. On its return journey to Blackpool, the tour will ride through Starr Gate tram depot and back to North Pier! We recommend pre-booking for this one, secure your seat by booking for Sunday 17th here.
Mini Tours
Running from Fisherman’s Walk – Thornton Gate and back, the Mini Tours will give you the Heritage touch as you capture great views from start to finish.
Running from 11:15 – 16:15, tickets are only £5 per adult and £2.50 per Child. Grab your tickets upon boarding at Fisherman’s Walk or Thornton Gate.
Promenade Tours
Our most vintage tram, Bolton 66 is taking centre stage on Sunday 17th, running the trams for our Promenade Tours. If you’d like to ride the 121 year old tram between Pleasure Beach – Bispham, you can pay on board or book in advance. See the timetable and secure your tickets here.
Balloon Tram tours
Running between North Pier – Fisherman’s Walk, Double Decker balloon trams 700 & 717 are operating roughly a 30-minute service, offering a seamless way to get to Fleetwood (or back!)
You can pre-book for the 10:12 and 1048 trips here or pay onboard for any other trips. See the timetable here.
